Projects I want to make!

A few projects I'd like to make this year.

Here they are (in no particular order):

  • Finish my quilt
  • Finish my skirt
  • Finish the baby book for my cousin's baby (does that make me second cousin or first cousin once removed...how does that work anyway?)
  • make a wall organizer
  • make an inspiration board(s)
  • make curtains
  • make a yoga mat bag
  • make a sundress like this one
I couldn't find a full picture of this dress and I couldn't get rid of the captions on this pic. I'm not very good with computers. But if you've seen Napoleon Dynamite then you probably know which sundress I'm talking about.

I like the idea of wearing skirts and casual dresses. I'm looking forward to looking into that project, but I am going to make myself finish a few other projects first. Maybe. Ha ha. With the upcoming move though it's kinda silly to make some of these projects right now so maybe that will get bumped up on the list.

Crafty Stuff...old projects and w.i.p.s and inspiration!

So here are a few pictures of some stuff I've made, things I'm working on, and things that inspire me. :)

I crocheted a lot of beanies and a couple of scarves, but I think I
like the knitted look better. I went a little bit nuts over scarves and made a whole bunch. Here are a few that aren't packed up for the move yet.
I love these colors!

I had a HUGE yarn stash. Because of our upcoming move I gave a lot of it away. I kept quite a bit too though. It's hard to find time to work on projects with all the moving stuff going on around here right now. I also have a pretty big fabric stash. Here are a few that are begging to be sewn into something fun!

Also, this fabric is being cut up into a skirt. I love polka dots!

And here is the quilt I started this summer. I'm not using a pattern, just winging it. Someday I will maybe finish it...

And finally, I love all of these books. They're mostly right up my alley because you don't really need to know how to use a pattern to make the projects. Saturday night hat is really cool. There are a lot of cool hats you can make. I made a beret, but mine was kinda ugly. Better luck next time. :)

So that's my crafty post. It's kinda huge... Whenever I finish my skirt, or add to my quilt, I'll put up some new pics!

"Now All I've Got Is A Photograph..."

I like that Ringo Starr song "Photograph." At least I think that's what it's called. :P

I also love Harpers Ferry. I really like history, and I love this place because so much happened there. Every time I go there I take a bajillion pictures. Here are a few pics I've taken this past year.

A view of the mountain from the church.

Houses in the town.

My brother in behind the church.

My sister on the ruins of an old building.

A cute restaurant downtown.

I have a ton more pictures of this little town. I love being here and places like Antietam. So much happened in these places. You are walking on the same ground that battles were fought on and history was made when you walk in these places. I would love to go to Israel for that same reason someday. All the amazing things that happened there...it would be great. I suppose that's one of the reasons I would like to travel someday. Not to resort places like Hawaii and the Bahamas, but to countries where important things happened. Only that is super expensive so it may never happen. :)

Now maybe my next post will be about something I've made. We'll see....:)

Worky work~

So it's Monday. But it was a very good day at work. :)

I used to LOVE Mondays. I always knew exactly what I was doing those days. Very stable. Back when I worked at The Daily Grind (Coffee Shop). I always knew what time I was working, who I was working with, who would mostly likely come in, and I had one class at school afterwards and then I was done.

I know who I'm working with now, but day-to-day life at work is not quite that stable anymore. Working at a dentist office is really interesting, and I like it. Today the office was very quiet as one dentist and two hygienists were out of the office. Not usually like this but it was nice.

So, one day down, three more till I'm off for the weekend! (One major perk to working at a dentist office is I get 3 day weekends! Woot!)

Till later~ or when I actually make something to post on this blog.

Yay!

Just wanted to add that I'm very happy the the New England Patriots are going to the Super Bowl after 18 undefeated games! Even if they don't win, I am still very proud of them for breaking a record. :)

First Things First!

So this is my new blog! And this is my first post. I decided to create my own blog because I'm kind of addicted to other blogs (mainly craft blogs...:) and have been inspired by them. Hopefully this will be a place to record pieces of my life as well as a source of inspiration to sew and knit and have fun being creative.

We'll see where it takes me. :)
